Chile grow room 2.0

Chile grow room 2.0

Did a big re-org in the guestroom/growroom this week. Mainly just moved things around a bit, took a bunch of stuff to the basement, and actually cleaned a bit to make room for a table. Order arrived with various sizes of smaller containers for germinating seeds and transplanting seedlings. Unfortunately table stands for lights are back-ordered but should be here soon. And if the temperature goes above freezing in the near future I’ll grab some compost from the backyard and get ready to grow some new plants. I’m trying to decide on what kind of root-growth stimulant to use for cuttings. Any recommendations?

The chile hiatus is over.

Man December was such a rush. It’s taken me many days of movie-watching and cookie-eating to decompress. Brief recap – filled orders for around 240 bottles of chunky chile oil in December, found excellent local bottle factory, source for supplemental chiles now that my own supply of mild peppers is exhausted. Even more importantly, the garden is rocking! All the plants have leafed out, most have flowered, and a couple of plants are sporting new winter fruits. I am so psyched!  A few florescent lights and a south-facing window and I’ve got new peppers in January! Details to come….
